- Fences up to 1.07 m (3.5 ft) can go anywhere on the lot.
- Fences up to 1.8 m (5.9 ft) are allowed behind the required front yard.
- On a corner lot, fences, walls and hedges are limited to 1 m within 9 m of the street corner.
- On sloped ground, height is measured from the average grade within 900 mm of both sides of the fence.
- Retaining walls over 1.2 m (3.9 ft) need a building permit and an engineer's design.
